About Dim Sum House

Located at 2631 Broadway, Sacramento, CA 95818, Dim Sum House operates as a chinese restaurant serving Sacramento in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as dim sum restaurant, restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Sacramento; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–3 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Dim Sum House at (916) 456-6688; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 392 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Sacramento and suggests consistent service.

Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sacramento follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This place has a "hole in the wall" vibe. It feels family owned, authentic, and not company, profit only. I tried the shrimp wonton which is only a dollar for a piece, and the shrimp was solidly big. The flavor and taste wasn't necessarily my favorite, but it was good. I would probably say it was a solid 7/10. Now for my plate, I decided to get Pan Fried Shrimp noodles and it was pretty good. I will be honest, it was my first time having pan friend anything, and it was pretty crunchy, not my favorite style so take my rating with a grain of salt. The sauce had good flavor and there were a few solid pieces of shrimp. I think if I come here again, I'll do chow mein because thats what I lowkey been used to for a while. Solid 7.5/10 (prolly personal bias against pan fried) But do come and try this place out, its good, cheap prices, and supporting a family business.

It's a mom and pop type/ of "hole in the wall" eatery. Mostly designed for take out. I've been frequenting this establishment for 20 years. Great dim sum and unbelievably good prices. The lunch plates are good too. My favorite it the shrimp har gow and potstickers.

A non descriptive place that serves homemade dumplings for takeout. Came here at 9 when they opened but we drove around unsure if they were actually open. Very affordable and tasty. The sticky rice is a must have. Gianormous and packed with pork and peanuts. Highly recommended

I made a huge mistake of not going to Lam Kwong deli on 12th street. Thought I'd try something new. Horrible dim sum. Seeded like it was days old. Not fresh at all. Don't bother stopping here if you need dim sum on a week day early.

When I lived in Sacramento I made my way to to Dim Sum House a few times a month. My hubby loves it so much that it was a priority for him to visit while we are visiting in Sacramento. I don’t know many other places where they sell dim sum by the piece/ a la carte and this place does which is very convenient of you don’t want to buy a whole tray. The taro dumpling is very special and one of my favorites! I also like their house chow mein, the war won ton soup and of course all the dim sum! Not much seating so to-go orders are best. I definitely recommend this place for affordable and yummy dim sum!
